Pompano Beach, FL stalwart Jackboy bares his soul on record with snapping flows and sharp melodies. The 28-year-old rapper continues the road to his upcoming album, I Can’t Do Nothing Wrong, releasing the emotional new trap ballad “Heartbroken,” and its accompanying music video.
Opening with dramatic piano chords and wailing guitars, Jackboy laments his rotten luck, as he remembers how it feels to be heartbroken and like his fortunes won’t turn around no matter how hard he works. An unabashed fan of pop music who counts Adele as one of his favorite artists, Jackboy switches effortlessly between drawling rhymes and impassioned vocals: “Ain’t got heartbroke in a minute, I forgot it really hurts,” he sings.
