Joshua Bassett lights Aragon Ballroom up with his stop in Chicago for his “The Golden Years” tour. With all around energetic performances from both him and the opening act Thomas Day, it’s safe to say the fans were in for an amazing night.
As the night begins with opening act Thomas Day he not only came in with amazing energy but was able to set the scene for each song he performed. From bouncing around the stage singing, to pouring his heart out for an intimate moment when singing the popular single “not my job anymore”. Moving the crowd from side to side singing word for word with him and he plays the keyboard. Thomas day was an amazing opener to have for such an electric show that only just began with more in store for every audience member that night.

As the patient crowd waits for the show to begin you can feel the excitement with chatter all around but quickly that chatter turns into a roaring applause and loud cheers from the fans as Joshua Bassett enters the stage. At one point while performing a song titled “Circles” off his recent album he brings a fan on stage to teach him ballet she shows him step by step with just a few moves as he attempts and entertains the crowd with laughs and cheers. Another highlight of the night was with Joshua playing another fan favorite song titled “Cherry Blossom”, off his most recent album. The entire crowd’s voice echoed throughout the venue as they sang word for word.

He not only stayed on stage during his performance but also journeyed through the crowd to get closer with the fans. The night ends and Joshua exits the stage but not for long as the crowd chants for an encore he renters the stage and goes on to perform a few extra songs leaving the fans more than satisfied with what they came for that night. Joshua Bassett’s Golden Years tour was a night to remember for all the fans in the city of Chicago.
