On Wednesday, February 15th, fans lined up outside of Dallas’ House of Blues for a sold out Kaash Paige show. This stop of the tour was originally scheduled for February 1st but was canceled due to the winter storm that came through to Texas. The crowd gathering outside the venue was excited for the hometown act to return to the city that she calls home.
Starting off with a local Dallas music artist, Tye Harris, he performed “Asphalt and Concrete”, which has gained him a massive social media following on Instagram. He was engaged with the crowd and had everyone singing along to his catchy lyrics that embodied Dallas culture. Tye’s performance on the keys was beautiful and showcased his ability to be a multi-talented artist. Although his set was short, he definitely made a long lasting impression on the crowd.

OG Bobby Billions was the second act to take the stage around 8:45 PM. Although Bobby was not the main act for the concert that night, he is a notable act that is rising quickly in the Dallas rap scene. He performed his top hits, including “Outside (Better Days)”, which has over 39 million streams on Spotify. His energetic performance and classic Dallas Rap catalog was essential in hyping up the crowd for Kaash Paige.

Shortly after, Amari Noelle took the stage as the third opener for the night. The rise of female rappers has been very prevalent in the rap scene and Amari does not fall short of hitting her mark. Her set consisted of lots of songs from her newest album “Lover Pack 1” and also from her older albums such as “Love Is My Religion”. Amari was extremely entertaining on stage and even brought a guest from the crowd on stage to sing and dance to them, bringing the whole experience to another level. After watching Amari finish her set, it is clearly a no brainer why Kaash Paige decided to have her as the main opener for her tour.

Around 9:30 PM, the crowd’s energy was raging through the roof as the DJ asked if they were ready for Kaash Paige. Once Kaash finally came out the crowd was in awe as her presence touched the stage. She recently released her album “S2ML” and by no surprise the crowd was singing along lyric to lyric to every song such as All Girls Cry, Doubted Me and 24 Hrs. Each track has received millions of streams on Spotify so it is obvious as to why her melodic tracks have such a cult following. Overall, Kaash Paige is still a fairly new act but has a lot of momentum that will allow her to gain a lot of traction in the rap and hip-hop scene. As an avid listener of the genre, after this concert I will definitely have Kaash Paige on repeat in my Spotify playlists.
