LUCKY DAYE PUTS HONEST CONNECTION ON THE LINE WITH NEW SINGLE “TALK TO ME”
GRAMMY® Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and architect of contemporary R&B Lucky Daye is putting everything on the line with “Talk To Me”, the latest single from his forthcoming album ALOUD!, arriving October 16 via Warner Records. Featuring his signature blend of live musicianship, vulnerability, sensuality, and fearless experimentation, “Talk To Me” finds Lucky chasing an honest connection when communication breaks down.
Driven by psychedelic guitar, ’80s-inspired percussion, and a deep, hypnotic groove, “Talk To Me” captures the tension of wanting someone back while refusing to let the connection disappear. Lucky turns a missed call into a last-ditch plea: “So, baby come and talk to me.” ALOUD! takes its name from the tension between “allowed” and “aloud,” rejecting the idea that artists need permission — from industry, peers, or themselves — to take risks.
“ALOUD! is really about being allowed to be exactly who you are. For me, it means speaking your truth, breaking the rules that don’t serve you, and not shrinking yourself because of how somebody else might see you,” says Lucky. “I wanted to make an album that feels freeing—and hopefully gives people permission to feel free as well.”
ALOUD! is Lucky fully stepping into his own creative freedom. The 15-track album features Leon Thomas, Pusha T, Muni Long, Akeem Ali, and Atlanta rock band The Paradox, with production that brings together Lucky’s expansive musical vision and longtime collaborators including D’Mile.
The new song arrives as things are heating up for Lucky. Last month he headlined Billboard Live!’s sold-out show in Brooklyn with Yung Miami, kicking off NYFW and giving fans an early opportunity to experience his new era in person — watch performance clips HERE. And on October 14, he joins The GRAMMY Museum for their esteemed series The Drop, where he’ll celebrate the impending release of ALOUD! with a candid discussion and special performance. Info HERE.
The album’s momentum is already undeniable. “Nowhere Fast,” Lucky’s first release since joining Warner Records, has climbed into the Top 20 at R&B radio, establishing a strong early foothold for the new era. The new album also continues a remarkable run of collaborations that speaks to Lucky’s range as both an artist and songwriter. He recently reunited with friend and longtime collaborator Leon Thomas on “Fly U Out,” a sultry, slow-burning track about the pull of wanting someone close when distance gets in the way. The steamy visualizer brings that yearning to life.
Lucky’s collaborative reach extends well beyond his own album. His current run includes Teyana Taylor’s “Hard Part,” which earned a 2026 MTV VMA nomination for Best Collaboration, as well as Chris Brown’s “Slow Jamz.” He has also recently worked with Alessia Cara, Tori Kelly, Tank and the Bangas, and Levin Kali, further underscoring the breadth of his musical instincts. Earlier this year, he joined Ms. Lauryn Hill for her all-star tribute to D’Angelo at the 68th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, performing “Brown Sugar.”
Those credits are only part of the story. As Lucky detailed during his recent appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, his songwriting and production résumé stretches back years, with credits and collaborations that have helped shape the sound of contemporary R&B. Before becoming a GRAMMY®-winning recording artist in his own right, he wrote for artists including Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Keith Sweat, and Ella Mai.
Lucky’s own catalog reflects that same depth. His 2019 debut Painted introduced his singular blend of classic soul and forward-thinking R&B; Table for Two earned the GRAMMY® for Best Progressive R&B Album; and Candydrip and Algorithm continued his evolution as a boundary-pushing artist. He has earned 13 GRAMMY® nominations and two wins, most recently taking home Best Traditional R&B Performance for “That’s You” in 2025, which further established Lucky as one of contemporary R&B’s most distinctive and seductive auteurs.
