Maria Becerra, one of the most prominent female artists in the Latin music scene, releases her new single “Piscina“. This collaboration with award-winning Puerto Rican singer Chencho Corleone and the renowned music producer Ovy On The Drums comes on the heels of her recent nomination for four Latin Grammy Awards. Maria encountered the producer in Medellín, Colombia, where “Piscina” was born. She recalls the moment with enthusiasm: “As soon as we entered the studio, he said, ‘I have a fantastic track to share with you.’ The intro and chorus he played captivated me; I was in love with the song from the moment I heard J Quiles‘s interpretation of the parts he composed. I knew I had to be part of this and we re-recorded it in his studio that very day.”
The decision to bring Chencho Corleone into the mix proved to be a stroke of genius. He quickly became part of the project, adding his verses with precision, and Maria adeptly matched her vocal style to complement his. “It’s exactly what the song needed – someone with his flow, a master ‘chanteador’ who can also deliver on the chorus,” Maria explains.
