Memphis Rapper Quezz Ruthless Pops Back Out With ‘Y.N.S.’ (Deluxe)
Buzzing in a busy Memphis scene, Quezz Ruthless never holds back in his music. Today, the 23-year-old upstart shares Y.N.S. (Deluxe), an expansion of his Summer 2024 mixtape. Adding six new songs, Y.N.S. (Deluxe) ratchets up the relentless energy, adding six new songs to the high-octane original. Songs like “They Ain’t Havin’ Nun” and “Youngest Turnt” brim with braggodocious charisma, as Quezz wields his southern drawl like a blunt-force weapon. On “Tired of Fighting,” he adds a new color to his palette, reflecting on his hardships, including the passing of his older brother Big Scarr. Featuring a guest appearance from Baby H Dawg, plus guest spots from Blocboy JB and a posthumous verse from Big Scarr on the original tracklist, Y.N.S. Y.N.S. (Deluxe) arrives with the music video for “Pressure,” the tape’s electric opening track. Rhyming over swelling synths, ethereal bells, and thudding Tennessee trap production, “Pressure” is a showcase for Quezz’s breakneck flow, as he takes aim at fake hustlers and smack-talkers: “I got some n****s who mad they ain’t gang, can’t get in the mix in this motion,” spits Quezz.
One of the most exciting rappers in Memphis’s bustling scene, Quezz Ruthless first gained notoriety with his guest spot on Big Scarr’s “MJ,” which has over 85 million global streams. Quezz built a cult following in Memphis with his 2023 mixtape, Wild Child, which has over 10 million streams. In 2024, Quezz created Y.N.S. in honor of his brother and his biggest inspiration, paying tribute to him on “Big Scarr Flow Part 2.” The tape’s final track, “Ain’t Stoppin‘,” produced by GRAMMY-nominated production duo The Trillionaires, features a posthumous verse from Scarr himself, as Quezz resolves to never stop paying tribute to his brother’s memory.
