Minnesota Vikings Announce Roster Moves
Wilson (5-9, 195) signs with the Minnesota Vikings as he enters his eighth season in the NFL. He has appeared in 89 career games with 38 starts in addition to four playoff appearances in which he started all four contests with Kansas City. For his career, Wilson has 218 receptions, 2,499 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns with an 11.5 average per catch. He has rushed the ball 27 times for 160 rushing yards with one touchdown and a long rush of 55 yards. Wilson, who opted out of the 2020 season, spent 2018-21 with the Miami Dolphins and entered the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs (2014-17) as an undrafted free agent following the 2014 NFL Draft.
While with Miami in 2018, Wilson recorded six catches for a career-high 155 yards and two touchdowns in a contest against the Chicago Bears to earn AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. He would finish the 2018 season ranked as second in the NFL with a 12.9 yards after catch average and fifth in the NFL with an 11.2 yards per target average. Wilson also boasts a QB passer rating of 135.4 having completed two of four career passing attempts including a 52-yard touchdown pass to Jakeem Grant. Wilson played collegiately at Georgia State where he left school as the all-time leader in receptions (175), receiving yards (3,190) and receiving TDs (23). He was also the first player in Georgia State history to be invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.
