Once-in-a-generation teenage folk guitarist and singer Muireann Bradley is announcing her new EP Rose Dogs, to be released on Universal’s recently relaunched Fontana label and Verve Forecast. Excitingly, the EP will feature Muireann’s first ever original tune, entitled “No Name Blues,” as well as recently released single “These Days.” Originally penned by a teenage Jackson Browne but made famous by Nico, Muireann’s version nods to the track’s folky roots, while putting her own youthful stamp on the classic.

Alongside this announcement she’s sharing the new single “Clay Pigeons”, which was recorded by American country music singer-songwriter, poet, and artist Blaze Foley in 1989. Watch the accompanying visualizer, filmed on her recent trip to Nashville, here. Muireann says, “I discovered Blaze Foley a couple of years ago when a video of him performing ‘Clay Pigeons’ came up on my YouTube feed. I was blown away and couldn’t stop watching the video over and over again. I tried to find every version of Blaze doing the song I could and learned it immediately. ‘Clay Pigeons’ is about Blaze’s struggles to turn over a new leaf and get his life together, the lyrics are simple yet poignant and beautiful. His finger picking is perfect, and his singing is heartbreaking. He has inspired songs by Townes Van Zandt, Lucinda Wiliams and Kings of Leon and his songs have been covered by some of the greatest songwriters ever including Willie Nelson and John Prine – I think that says it all.”

This week, Muireann has been announced as part of the all-star lineup for Harvest Moon Gathering, a daytime benefit concert on October 25th in Lake Hughes, California, which will also see performances from Neil Young, Lana Del Rey and Beck. More info here.

Muireann has also announced her first ever UK/IE tour: kicking off in Dublin on the November 9th, the eight date run is selling extremely well, with sold-out dates at The Lexington in London, Dublin’s The Sugar Club, Manchester’s Rat and Pigeon, and low ticket warnings for the rest of the dates. Full tour routing is below; remaining tickets are available here. 18-year-old Muireann is rapidly garnering a devout fanbase, thanks to her unique style which blends traditional guitar playing with personal and mature interpretations of classic songs that belie her years.

She recently covered Bob Dylan’s classic “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright” for Mahogany Sessions, watch here. Muireann is bringing folk and blues and their story-rich songs to a whole new generation; after enchanting a huge crowd at last summer’s Green Man Festival on the main stage, this year has seen her play at Hackney’s EartH, The Great Escape, Bearded Theory festival, End Of The Road and many more, including a run of dates in the US, taking in Washington DC, Brooklyn, Nashville and Chicago.

Her journey from playing in her bedroom to performing on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny and Ireland’s The Late Late Show has captivated audiences, establishing Muireann as one of Ireland’s brightest emerging stars. Muireann’s acclaimed debut album I Kept These Old Blues is already regarded as a collectible among in-the-know music fans after the first pressing sold out everywhere; truly remarkable given Bradley was just 15 years old when she recorded it.. Now, Muireann is poised for a global breakout – watch a brilliant overview of her story to date here.
