NATION ANNOUNCES NATION 2 REMIXES PROJECT – OUT JUNE 26TH
The enigmatic electronic duo Nation has just announced that their forthcoming Nation 2 Remixes project will be released this Friday. This effort, their first in a year, captures their wonderfully wonky creative approach: they sent a Dropbox of stems to a handpicked group of artists they admire and let them do whatever they wanted. The result pulls their songs into strange new shapes, with contributions from DJ Travella, DJ Stingray, ESP, Eurohead, ideasforconversation, and others. With their most accessible and arresting record to date, Nation are sharpening their chaos into something bigger— a vision they’ll bring to the road as support for Evanora Unlimited’s upcoming EU tour and a slate of yet-to-be-announced live shows this summer.
The announcement arrives amid a period of growing momentum for Nation, who spent the last year building on the cult following surrounding their 2025 sophomore album, Nation 2. Brought directly to global audiences through shows alongside Surf Gang, Frost Children, Yves Tumor, Mechatok and more, the 13-track project showcased the Los Angeles duo’s distinctive blend of synth-pop, new-wave electronic music, and post-punk textures, highlighted by fan-favorite tracks including “NahWhat”, “Weeop”, and “Cry8” featuring Swedish producer Varg²™. Throughout the album cycle, Fresh Jame and Funball continued their longstanding creative relationship with Drain Gang founder Ecco2k, who appeared on both “Nobody’s Fault” and “Touch”, further strengthening the group’s ties to the wider YEAR0001 communities. As Nation‘s genre-defying sound continues to resonate with an increasingly global audience, the duo now enters their next chapter with new music on the horizon and their most ambitious run of live dates to date.
