Earlier this week, (Sandy) Alex G took the stage at the Masquerade to put on a one of a kind lo-fi, indie rock show.

Opening up the night, Half Waif took the stage first. Performing a solo act, her entrancing, melodic vocals drew the audience in. Accompanied by a backing track, her playing of a double synth added to the overall dreamy performance that she put on. Simple, yet elegant, her performance set the tone of the night with an encapsulating performance.

Following shortly after, Alex G came out. He and his band put on a show that was uniquely them. From his vocals to his mannerisms on stage, Alex carried himself with a one of a kind energy. His lo-fi vibe carried throughout the show as his fans were locked in to his performance. The band complimented him perfectly, feeding off of his energy to have one cohesively brilliant act. Throughout the songs, the other guitarist would play an impressive guitar riff, shifting the tone as the audience ate it up. The skilled guitar work continued to show again and again, adding onto Alex’s lyrical prowess. In the show, Half Waif came out to provide additional vocals, coming together to form one dreamy folk show.
