SAY LOU LOU RELEASE NEW SINGLE + VIDEO ‘WONG KAR-WAI’

The critically acclaimed duo Say Lou Lou – who are comprised of twins Elektra and Miranda – return with their new single, ‘Wong Kar-wai’, out now via Cosmos Music. The single is accompanied by a music video, which is available to watch below. Also announced today is the new EP from Say Lou Lou, entitled Dust, which is set for release on Friday 26th April.

On ‘Wong Kar-wai’, Say Lou Lou delves into dreamy indie aesthetics with opulent production and velvety vocals. The track is named after the Hong-Kong film director, screenwriter, and producer Wong Kar-wai, whose work includes Chungking Express (1994), Happy Together (1997), and In The Mood For Love (2000).

Speaking about their new single ‘Wong Kar-wai’, Say Lou Lou said: “Wishing you were somewhere else, not here, anywhere – that love was like a film, a dream, anything but this tired, sad reality. Wong Kar-wai is a director who manages to reflect longing and mystery, a master of composition and capturing how chance encounters can be the fate that you needed.”

In 2024, Say Lou Lou is poised to return in full force. In 2023, after undertaking a short hiatus from music as a result of Elektra’s acting career and her role in the TV series Shantaram, the band returned with their acclaimed single, ‘Waiting For A Boy’. Now, fans can expect to receive a bounty of new releases which will be announced in the coming weeks and months.

Say Lou Lou made their debut in 2012 with the cult hit ‘Maybe You’, and since then have been praised globally for their dreamscape/electro inspired pop, making waves with tracks like ‘Julian’, ‘Better in the Dark’, ‘Games for Girls’and ‘Golden Child’, and releasing two albums as well as collaborating with the likes of Duke Dumont, Lindstrøm and Chet Faker, to mention a few.

Alongside music the band have made prominent moves in the fashion world, working with brands such as Gucci, Chanel, and Calvin Klein, and have always been highly regarded across tastemakers including Rolling Stone, The Fader, i-D,Vogue, NME, Clash Magazine, The Guardian, and The Times. In recent years, the sisters have branched into film and TV, most prominently with Elektra landing a starring role alongside Charlie Hunnam on Apple TV+’s series Shantaram.
