THE PEOPLES CHAMP SLAYR RELEASES “TURN IT UP” WINNER OF PLAQUEBOYMAX SONG WARS
Philadelphia’s Slayr isn’t letting BloodLuxe sit still for a second. Less than two weeks after the project’s March 6 release, the rising rapper is already pushing forward with “Turn It Up,” a track that’s been building real time hype.
BloodLuxe has quickly found its footing within the underground, picking up momentum through word of mouth and fan co-signs, while Slayr himself continues to move like an artist with no interest in slowing down. Last week, he sold out his first Los Angeles headline show at the Echoplex, a jam packed crowd and confirmation of just how fast things are clicking.
Over the past week, Slayr has streamed alongside creators including Youngdabo, Noah Mejia, and PlaqueBoyMax. Most recently, he appeared on Max’s “Song Wars” stream, where he debuted “Turn It Up” in a head-to-head battle format judged by DJ Akademiks and 808 Mafia’s Southside. The track drew an immediate reaction from both judges and viewers, ultimately securing Slayr the win.

With “Turn It Up,” Slayr builds on the momentum of BloodLuxe while continuing to engage his audience across platforms, underscoring his position within the next wave of underground rap.
Slayr is known for his high-energy delivery and genre-blending approach to trap and rage rap, balancing aggressive lyricism with melodic hooks. His independent releases have collectively generated millions of streams and earned him hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners on Spotify, with Half Blood accumulating over 6 million streams per week. The Bloodluxe deluxe extends the world of Half Blood, a mixtape that includes fan-favorite songs such as “Never Go Down,” “Holding,” and “Sloppy Joe,” and reflects the range he has developed over time. The release adds to a catalog that has steadily grown through consistent independent output and online engagement and hit the top 10 of Apple Music Hip Hop Charts and top 50 all-genre upon release.
Catch Slayr live in LA at UC Berkeley on March 17th and Chicago on April 11th before he heads to Rolling Loud Orlando in May.
