The Dare Unveils Captivating New Single ‘Perfume’

THE DARE ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM WHAT’S WRONG WITH NEW YORK? DUE SEPTEMBER 6TH

Emerging New York artist The Dare introduces his latest single ‘Perfume’, along with details of his eagerly awaited debut album What’s Wrong With New York?, set to release on September 6 via Polydor Records. ‘Perfume’ is complemented by a video directed by Nick Harwood.

The album, What’s Wrong With New York?, was crafted over the past year between The Dare’s residence and studio in New York. It showcases collaborations in songwriting and production with notable artists such as Dylan Brady (100 gecs), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Dua Lipa), Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), Chris Greatti (Yves Tumor, Yeule), Isaac Eiger of Strange Ranger, and others.

Fresh off opening for Charli xcx at her inaugural Brat live performances in New York and Los Angeles, The Dare debuted a brand-new live show. He also produced ‘Guess’ from the deluxe edition of Brat, which is now available.

In May, The Dare embarked on a special series of sold-out concerts in the UK and Europe, including performances in London, Paris, Berlin, and more. He also graced several festivals, including Primavera and The Great Escape. Coinciding with the album announcement, The Dare has revealed his first-ever headline tour of North America this fall, starting on September 5 at New York’s Webster Hall, with additional dates in Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more.

The Dare is the solo endeavor of vocalist, songwriter, and producer Harrison Patrick Smith. He made a splash with the popular ‘Girls’ from his widely praised The Sex EP. His dynamic live shows have sold out across North America and Europe, and his renowned DJ sets, perfected at his signature downtown Manhattan party Freakquencies, have provided the soundtrack for parties hosted by Gucci, Celine, and others. He has shared the stage and collaborated with artists like Charli xcx, Yves Tumor, Water From Your Eyes, and many more.
