On March 4th, Oliver Tree came to Chicago to play a sold-out show on the 7th stop of his Cowboy Tears Tour. The show took place at Radius Chicago, One of Chicago’s newest music venues located in Chinatown. Doors did not open until 7pm and there was a massive line that stretched down the entire block. Even after the doors have been open for a while, the line still seemed to grow bigger and bigger. This was going to be a fun night of good music.
Not too long after doors opened and people got their drinks and merch, Oliver’s first opener 347Aidan, hit the stage with his band and began performing. A lot of the crowd seemed to be familiar with his material, so it was easy for him to get their attention. 347Aidan brought a lot of energy and fit the vibe of the tour well. He explained how this is his first ever tour and how performing brings him a lot of joy which was followed up by a huge round of applause.

After what felt like a while, someone got on the microphone and announced that due to unforeseen circumstances, the second opener Sueco would not be performing, and that Oliver would be performing shortly. The crowd let out a sigh of relief as they thought that Oliver was going to be the one to cancel.
Shortly after the show began.
Oliver Tree ran onto the stage followed by his band. Dressed in his iconic JNCO Jeans and ski coat with red sunglasses, Oliver opens with his popular song “Forget It”. The crowd went crazy seeing Oliver dance around stage doing silly dance moves that he is known for with his meme-like persona. The first few song he performed were off his Alien Boy EP which a lot of older fans appreciated. He then led into some songs from his debut album “Ugly is Beautiful”. Lil Ricky, a collaborator of Oliver’s, even came out to sing some songs together as well.

After a quick wardrobe change, Oliver comes out in his Cowboy getup on a big fake cow to sing all of his new material from his sophomore album “Cowboy Tears”. Being the showman that he is, Oliver made good use of the stage and his set cracking jokes and being over the top as he is known to be by his fans. Everyone was having a great time singing and dancing to his songs. He finally closed out the night with his hit song “Hurt” and then performed “I’m Gone” for his encore. Oliver closed by saying how much he loves the city of Chicago which was followed by a loud cheer as he walked off stage. Overall, the show was a success and fans left happy having seen a great show put on by Oliver Tree and 347 Aiden.
