Extremely dynamic and highly efficient electric drive system.
The fully electric BMW iX3 M60 xDrive combines strong performance with high efficiency. Its Gen6 M eDrive system uses two electric motors to deliver power and precision while keeping energy consumption low, balancing sporting capability with everyday usability.
The sixth-generation electric drive system represents a major technological advance, with longer range than the previous generation, faster charging, 800-volt technology, and bidirectional charging capability. The system combines further-developed, highly efficient electric motors with all-new high-voltage batteries using cylindrical cells.
The new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive has one electric motor at the front axle and one at the rear. Together, they generate maximum output of 603 hp and peak torque of 645 lb-ft. The SUV sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds.
A new Gen6 EESM (electrically excited synchronous motor) at the rear axle contributes to the higher output of the range-topping BMW iX3 M60 xDrive. A newly developed stator and a more powerful inverter—rated at 420 A instead of 300 A—raise peak and continuous output and torque. A longer gear ratio and higher maximum usable rotor speed help increase the vehicle’s top speed to 149 mph.
The high-voltage battery in the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive has a usable energy content of 112.2 kWh. The maximum charging rate is 400 kW. Standard specification includes AC Charging Professional with a maximum AC charging rate of 15.4 kW.
Heart of Joy processes driving inputs up to ten times faster than previous systems.
The Heart of Joy high-performance computer helps define the driving character of the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive. One of four “superbrains,” it works with the BMW M Dynamic Performance Control Driving Stack to manage the M Performance model’s powertrain and driving dynamics. It coordinates the drive system, braking and steering subfunctions, charging, and recuperation up to ten times faster than previous systems.
The BMW iX3 M60 xDrive instantly translates the power generated by the fully electric BMW M eDrive system into dynamic performance. The Heart of Joy and BMW M Dynamic Performance Control coordinate driving-related processes in milliseconds, ensuring a very direct and precise driving experience.
The Heart of Joy also reduces the number of control inputs required, supporting consistent, repeatable cornering behavior and reinforcing a sense of control. As a result, the BMW iX3 M60 xDrive can be guided through corners intuitively and with high precision.
The Soft Stop function uses energy recuperation to bring the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive to a smooth stop without jerking or braking noise—the smoothest stopping action in BMW history. In everyday driving, the vehicle decelerates almost entirely through recuperative braking; the conventional brakes are used only during emergency braking or sporty driving. M Sport brakes with red or blue calipers are optional.
Hallmark M driving characteristics: Adaptive M Suspension, variable sport steering, an M Sport differential, and model-specific chassis tuning.
As the most performance-focused model in the BMW iX3 line-up, the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive comes standard with Adaptive M Suspension and electronically controlled dampers. The system enhances both dynamic performance and ride comfort, and the driver can select its basic setting through My Modes.
