VIRAL SINALOAN ARTIST REMP RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE “999 (GOER)”

The viral regional Mexican artist Remp makes returns with his booming new single “999 (Goer)” via Lumbre Music. “999 (Goer)” continues Remp’s astronomical string of explosive singles that was ignited by his viral hit song “Don Dimadon” featuring corridos tumbados star Óscar Maydon that has amassed over 100 million streams to date. With a cult following already built in as he paves his own path through his signature sound with dembow and electro corridos, the young Remp is well on his way to become a major player in the Latin music arena.
Featuring his signature sound rooted in electronic elements infused with a hip-hop rhythm, “999 (Goer)” sees Remp’s braggadocio fueled flow narrate a slew of topics reflective of the reality of many young Mexicanos and Latinos across the globe. The track was born from an idea thousands of feet up in the air while Remp was on a flight in a moment of pure inspiration to continue to keep expanding his sound and songwriting. Once he touched down, he jumped into the studio with producer and close friend, Kiddprxblems, where they were able to masterfully produce an epic party anthem about the ecstasy of living the dream of being successful in only doing what you like, and what you want.
The single arrives on the heels of an amazing streak in Remp’s young career where has amassed millions of streams in releases and collaboration with beloved artists of the reggaeton and regional Mexican arena, including his single “OH SHIT”, with label mate Jimmy Guzman and rising Mexican reggaeton artist Yng Lvcas. And even more impressive, the release of his single “El Plumas”, featuring Mexican rapper El Primo. The single earned more than 2 million views on TikTok before release, and it’s currently sitting in almost 10 million streams across platforms – listen HERE. Marking an early following cult following for Remp.
Born and raised in Culiacán, Sinaloa, the young Remp found a safe space and refuge from the complexities of life that seemed overwhelming and larger-than-life insecurities through his love for music. Sharing snippets of old demos he did as a hobby on TikTok, he found a new and unique audience that was hungry for an evolved sound within the regional Mexican music scene. Interpolating tropical sounds such as Dembow, with electronic EDM music, Remp teased what would become “Don Dimadon” with a snippet that went viral in just minutes. This would earn him early co-signs from landmark artists of the genre such as Kevin AMF, and Óscar Maydon, who later jumped to be a collaborator on the song earning Remp more than 100 million streams with his first release.
REMP ON “999 (GOER)”:
“I was on a flight on my way to Mexico City trying to find new ideas that inspire me and create a new sound. Looking for Brazilian funk, and also mixing techno music. When I landed the first thing I did was calling my producer and we started to brainstorm on what would become “999”. When the song was done, I heard exactly what was in my head. My imagination was represented in a new party anthem.”
