Volvo Car USA Reports Sales Of 7,693 Cars In January With 80 Percent Increase In BEV sales

Volvo Car USA reported sales of 7,693 cars in January, up 8.2 percent compared with the same month last year, with sales of fully electric cars growing 80.1 percent.

The share of Recharge models — those with pure electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains – sold in the U.S. continued to climb, reaching 30.8 percent during the month, a 1.8 percent increase over December 2022.

As a whole the Americas Region sold 10,130 cars in January, a 15 percent increase over the same period last year, with Recharge models accounting for 40 percent of overall sales.

The Canadian market saw the region’s largest year over year increase of Recharge sales — 107.6 percent — with Latin America and the U.S. showing 92.3 and 24.2 percent increases, respectively.

Fully electric cars accounted for 12.9 percent of sales across the region.
