Armin Van Buuren, the legendary Dutch DJ and record producer, put on an incredible high-energy performance to a sold-out crowd at REBEL on January 26, 2024, in Toronto, Canada. Van Buuren is best known for his weekly radio show “A State of Trance,” which has been broadcast to nearly 40 million listeners in 84 countries on over 100 FM radio stations since 2001. To date, Van Buuren has released six studio albums, which have become international hits. He has been ranked the number one DJ by DJ Magazine a record of five times, four years in a row. In addition, he has won numerous accolades, including twelve DJ Awards, twenty-seven International Dance Music Awards, and five DJ Mag Awards. In 2014, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for his single “This Is What It Feels Like”.

The concert was a mesmerizing experience for the audience, with Armin’s electrifying music all synchronized with custom visuals and state of the art lighting and lasers provided by the venue. The setlist included his popular tracks such as “Love Is a Drug” and “Blah Blah Blah”. Van Buuren’s signature sound has continued to evolve over the years, while staying true to his original roots in trance, and progressive house. I personally found his music to resemble that of Anyma, with goosebump-inducing beat drops, and intense atmospheric build ups.
