Electrifying Mura Masa shares Captivating new single ‘We Are Making Out’ (w/ yeule)
Mura Masa, a platinum-selling and Grammy Award-winning artist, has unveiled his new single ‘We Are Making Out’ (w/ yeule). The track is now available on his personal label, Pond Recordings, and was first aired as Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music 1. To celebrate the release, Mura Masa will perform at Berlin’s renowned Berghain next Sunday, featuring a lineup that highlights the latest pioneers in progressive electronic music. Along with the track, the duo has released a performance video featuring yeule, characterized by its glitchy, direct-to-camera style.
‘We Are Making Out’ encapsulates the relentless energy of a night out, serving as an electroclash adventure that transports mid-00s club music from Paris or New York to two people inseparable on the Bakerloo line. In collaboration with Singapore-born musician and performance artist yeule, the single marks a further evolution of Mura Masa’s club-focused new phase and teases a full project set to release later this summer.
Mura Masa’s summer performances continue with DJ sets at James Blake’s CYMK (June 14th), Field Day (August 24th), and more international shows following his spring US tour. Reflecting his unique position at the core of youth culture, Mura Masa recently co-wrote the new single ‘Turn It Up’ with long-time collaborator PinkPantheress, and produced a series of remixes for Troye Sivan’s ‘Honey’.

Over the past year, Mura Masa has emerged as one of the most influential figures of this generation. From producing global hits like ‘Boy’s a liar Pt.2’ to seminal records like Shygirl’s Mercury-nominated Nymph, this period has also seen Mura Masa embark on a new journey of his own. He has established his label and a creative hub and arts space – The Pond – in Peckham as a platform for emerging artists. Standalone singles like ‘Whatever I Want’, ‘still’ (which features vocals from Griff), and ‘rise / gimme’ demonstrate his keen ear for subculture. With his three critically acclaimed solo albums, Mura Masa has cultivated a following that will accompany him wherever his genre-defying work leads next. With 2 billion streams, headline festival sets worldwide, and performances ranging from Alexandra Palace to Warehouse Project, ‘We Are Making Out’ signifies a return-to-roots approach. It also underscores the young trailblazer’s recurring theme: to seize ‘that’ moment in pop culture, make it uniquely Mura Masa’s, and propel things forward.
