ETHANUNO SHOWS OFF HIS LOVESICK “TATTOO”

Singer, songwriter, and producer EthanUno returns with the kaleidoscopic, kawaii-fied “tattoo”. Equally upbeat and lovelorn, the new single finds the artist addressing an ex whose memory he just can’t shake, switching between English and Spanish over a swirl of glitchy hyperpop and R&B.
Over a sugar rush of rubbery bass, digitized claps, and percussive blips, EthanUno sings the candied-coated hook: “Said you want what’s best for you and baby me too / But since you left, I looked and ain’t found no one like you / Ya no puedo llamarte, quiero olvidarte / Pero siempre estás conmigo como un tattoo.” Translation: “I can’t call you anymore, I want to forget you/ But you’re always with me like a tattoo.” “tattoo” plays in the singular lane he’s carved out — a happy-sad meld of Latin pop croon and SoundCloud experimentation.
“I was really inspired by the playfulness of anime aesthetics and wanted to create something that mirrored that in audio form,” says EthanUno who writes and produces his songs. “I saw fans really liking the song ‘tu’ from late 2023 so this was somewhat of an attempt to build upon that universe and take it even further.”
“tattoo” follows EthanUno’s “on 10”, an infectiously bouncy track that was promptly added to Ones To Watch’s hotly tipped #NowWatching playlist. Meanwhile, older self-released cuts like “tu” and “pensando en ti” continue to pick up fans, some famous. The latter track got an early cosign from Frank Ocean, who played it on Homer Radio, and was more recently embraced by Rosalía, who included it on her “Birthday Bangers” playlist for Interview Magazine. Meanwhile, he’s growing an army of followers across socials and DSPs.
