Everything and Everybody – Vertigo *Review*
Written By | Louis Washington
Berlin-Based Pop trio, Everything and Everybody debuts their newest single, ‘Vertigo’ accompanied with a fitting music video.
This antithesis of their previous video, Lifequake, this video is at times very eerie. ‘Vertigo’ gives you a time-lapsed ride down a winding road on a beautiful day. The road is completely void of any traffic or other distractions and everything is turned upside down. As the video plays, the day becomes clearer and the atmosphere gets increasingly more warm and comfortable.
The trio explained the meaning behind the song’: ‘Vertigo’ is about everyday life; its routines and habits convey a sense of security.” The band also stated: “We are clinging to what we know, dreading to let go and drown. Paralyzed by the fear of anything else then simply existing, by the falling, by the unknown freedom. Our need for control injects a permanent fear as we prefer a familiar hell to an unexplored paradise.”
Everything & Everything encapsules Vertigo’ by stating: “The sweet nectar of control is threatened by change and it’s scary opportunities. We are clinging to what we know, dreading to let go and drown. Paralyzed by the fear of anything else then simply existing, by the falling, by the unknown freedom. Our need for control injects a permanent fear as we prefer a familiar hell to an unexplored paradise.”
