NATIVE SUN TEAM UP WITH PSYMON SPINE FOR REMIX OF “THIS MESS”

New York City bands Native Sun and Psymon Spine have joined forces for a remix of “This Mess”, a centerpiece of Native Sun’s debut album, Concrete Language. Released one year ago via TODO Records, Concrete Language found fans at Rolling Stone, NPR, Consequence, Stereogum, DORK, Line of Best Fit, CLASH, and more.

Of today’s release, Psymon Spine shares, “Native Sun have one of the most powerful live shows going. We wanted to find a way to capture the soundtrack for the excitement you feel in the crowd right before they rip into a song. The main idea was recording a found of ‘pre-song sounds’ to work from. We sat there and recorded and sampled two hours of unintentional guitar noises”.

On Concrete Language, Native Sun channeled unrest through sharp contrast–quiet restraint cracked open by explosive bursts, blurring the lines between control and collapse. It was produced, mixed, and additionally recorded by Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Bodega, Snail Mail, The Drums), mastered by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound, and engineered by Jeremy Snyder.
