Platinum-selling Chicago hip-hop luminary G Herbo re-ups, recharges, and re-energizes his acclaimed new project, Big Swerv, with the brand new Big Swerv 2.0 out now. Upholding a scorching hot streak this fall, he presents the definitive version of this body of work by adding a total of eight previously unreleased tracks today.

Among the new material, he joins forces with Chris Brown on the latest single, “Play Your Part.” Breezy blesses this banger with a slick and smooth signature vocal as he urges, “Baby, just play your part.” Plus, “Ball” [feat. Meek Mill] showcases his versatility. Soulful guitar wails, and a thick beat bumps through twinkling keys. Once again, G Herbo’s bars cut deep as he reaches up for the light at the end of the tunnel, “And I never needed help, sometimes I stay alone, but I’m’a make it home.” Meek Mill counters with his instantly recognizable cadence punctuated by hunger and heart. They lock into a hard-hitting back-and-forth for the duration of the track, showcasing elite wordplay and undeniable emotion in equal measure.

Keeping it Chicago, G Herbo and Lil Durk ignite a volley of melodic rhymes on “In The Air.” Then, there’s the fiery finale “Nothin.” From the jump, he reminds, “Everything I’ve been through, I survived.” A choir rings out in the background, and he launches into a frenetic flow. It culminates with a bold affirmation, “I got too many people I love so I can’t care about nothing.”

Big Swerv incited a groundswell of excitement upon arrival. In addition to plugs from The SourceXXL, and more, OKAYPLAYER featured the album on “The Listening,” and he sat down with POWER 106FM in Los Angeles for an extensive interview. In its wake, Herbo shared the music video for “Global Spinning” featuring Baby Drill, as well as Splat. It’s a highlight from Big Swerv, which peaked at #1 on Apple’s Hip-Hop/Rap albums and #2 overall albums charts. His fans eagerly awaited the releases as it landed to much critical acclaim. He also appeared on camera for interviews with Big BoyReal 92.3, and WGCI

On the eve of Big Swerv’s arrival, Rolling Stone visited Herbo in Chicago for an exclusive and extensive profile. In reference to the new project, the outlet praised how “it’s also him doing something he hasn’t previously been able to do: let loose with his music.”

In 2022, he made a major statement by dropping the double-album opus Survivor’s Remorse: A Side & B Side. In addition to achieving critical acclaim, it notably included guest appearances by JeremihFuture, OffsetGunna, Benny The Butcher, A Boogie Wit Da HoodieYoung ThugMeek MillConway, and Kodak Black.
