Alejandro Sanz has participated today at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, one of the most relevant and far-reaching global events in the world of sports. The artist from Madrid has been chosen as the representative of Europe to perform an emotional version of the classic IMAGINE (the immortal song that John Lennon recorded in 1971), along with 4 other great figures from the world of music: John Legend representing the American continent, Keith Urban for Oceania, Angelique Kidjo for Africa, and the voices of the Suginami Children´s Choir of Japan as the representatives of Asia. In addition of these great talents, the new version of Imagine has had the orchestral arrangement by Hans Zimmer, German musician, composer and Oscar winner. Austria’s Synchron Stage Orchestra and Choir, as well as drummers from the TAIKOPROJECT also contributed to this performance.

The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 has taken place from 8:00 p.m. (Tokyo local time) at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
