REUBEN AND THE BULLHORN SINGERS ANNOUNCE ALL THESE ROADS TOUR

Following the release of their debut single, “Powerful” last fall, Reuben and The Bullhorn Singers announce their very special All These Roads Tour this spring, sponsored by ATCO Space Labs. The tour will highlight personal stories about Indigenous lands and music’s role in healing, taking them across the country, including stops in Victoria, Calgary, Winnipeg and more, along with dates at several First Nation Reserve communities across the country. This tour aims to amplify the group’s powerful message, as ‘the conversation after reconciliation,’ and showcase their one-of-a-kind live experience blending Indie Folk with Indigenous Pow Wow music. Ahead of the tour, Reuben and The Bullhorn Singers will release their next single, aptly titled “All These Roads” on March 21st – pre-save here.
Alongside this tour announcement – the band have shared the stunning live performance video of the first single “Powerful,” filmed at OCL Studios in Calgary.
Bullhorn’s leader, Billy Wadsworth explains the importance of these performances and bringing it directly to First Nation communities saying, “I’m from the Blood Tribe, Kainai Nation and grew up on a reserve. When I was young, I happened to go to a youth conference and there were some musicians, some Indigenous musicians and dancers, and not just our own culturally, there were also break dancers, rappers and different singers outside of our own genre. When I saw that at a very young age, it really had an impact on me – it was just so nice to see Indigenous performers – and I was proud of them. So I want to go to reserves with Reuben and The Bullhorn Singers and connect with young people. I want to influence and give these young people a good view of some healthy Indigenous people. It’s about wellness, it’s about healing, and it’s about relationships and building those relationships. It’s the conversation after reconciliation.”
Reuben Bullock, mirroring the importance of this tour also saying:
“The songs we perform are profoundly powerful – there’s an undeniable magic in them that I’m excited to share. We hope visiting First Nations communities will be a meaningful way to engage with the youth by going to places we don’t normally get to go, and sharing our music. Music is healing and this will be an opportunity to share and learn for all of us. These may not all be typical stops on a Canadian tour but we’re excited to bring our show directly to these communities for a special experience.”We bring our ten years of touring and band experience, while Billy and the Bullhorn Singers bring decades of powwow and ceremonial music. Our relationship is unique, both musically and personally, and I hope it inspires more cross-cultural collaborations.”

In 2021 at The Calgary Stampede mainstage, acclaimed indie-folk artist Reuben and the Dark brought out Blackfoot pow-wow champion singing group, Bullhorn Singers lead by Billy Wadsworth, for an unforgettable live performance that stopped the audience, and the artists themselves, in their tracks. What was an impromptu performance and unlikely union of culture, life experience and sound in front of a crowd of thousands was electric and the birth of something special. This led to the brand new collaborative project, Reuben and the Bullhorn Singers. Watch Reuben and Billy discuss the partnership on q with Tom Power on CBC here.
