RISING RAPPER 1NONLY DROPS DREAMY NEW SINGLE “WHAT YOU WANT”
Breakout artist-producer 1nonly releases his powerful new single “WHAT YOU WANT” via Warner Records. Built around a harmonic loop and threaded with crashing percussion, it delivers the Las Vegas native’s signature brand of freewheeling hip-hop. In the accompanying video, 1nonly offers up vintage vibes to capture the track’s anguished tone.
“What you want? I got what you need. I felt it in my veins,” he raps over a soaring melody. Later, he adds, “I smoke to heal the pain… I wish you didn’t go.” Infectious and anthemic, “WHAT YOU WANT” still conjures an undeniable undercurrent of heartache and introspection that gives the track an emotional edge.
In the video, viewers are treated to eerie imagery, including propped-up mannequins and dark country roads, all cast in grainy throwback filters. The rapper appears in dark forests and along snowy, mountainous passages while delivering the track’s heart-on-my-sleeve message.
The track is the first single from 1nonly, following the danceable track “Falling.” It was preceded by the moody number “Scars,” as well as “POPTHATRUNK” and “GHOSTKILLA” featuring Jasiah. Those hits followed on the heels of the Homesick EP’s release late last year, which included the singles “Mine” and “Step Back!” alongside New Zealand rapper-producer SXMPRA as well as “Leave,” a swaggering track that utilizes both a powerful hip-hop bass with frenetic electronic beats.
Sidestepping convention in favor of dynamic, genre-defying tunes has always set 1nonly apart from the pack. Now, with “WHAT YOU WANT,” he continues to push boundaries and tug at heartstrings.
