Christina Aguilera on The Voice: ‘It’s not about music, but good TV’

Christina Aguilera unleashed a brand new song and video yesterday, ‘Accelerate‘ featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz

The ‘Beautiful‘ star also announced that her upcoming album, ‘Liberation‘ will be out in June.

One thing she won’t be announcing is a return to ‘The Voice‘.

Speaking to Billboard, the ‘Burlesque’ star said: “It became something that I didn’t feel was what I had signed up for in season one.

“You realize it’s not about music. It’s about making good TV moments and massaging a story.

“I didn’t get into this business to be a television show host and to be given all these [rules]. Especially as a female: You can’t wear this, can’t say that. I would find myself on that show desperately trying to express myself through clothing or makeup or hair. It was my only kind of outlet.”

Instead she’s keen to return to performing in front of her fans. The 37-year-old said: “When I’m onstage, there’s not a bigger high, when I’m in connection with my voice and my heart and my soul.

“But at the end, I want to wipe it all off, get in my sweatpants, make silly noises with my kids and have someone comfort and cuddle me.”

Liberation is out June 15. Accelerate feat. Ty Dolla $ign & 2 Chainz along with the stunning music video, directed by Zoey Grossman is out now (watch below).

Last week Aguilera took part in The Late Late Show with James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ (watch below).

Fears for Kanye’s health emerge after Scooter Braun’s firing

Written By | Mara Siegler, Oli Coleman and Carlos Greer

Kanye West canceled 21 tour dates in 2016 after suffering a “nervous breakdown,” but there are new fears for his health after he abruptly fired manager Scooter Braun and a “friend” claimed West had been addicted to opioids.

On Monday, Hot 97 host Ebro Darden told listeners that he had spoken with West this weekend, and West allegedly told him, “Nobody really showed love for me when I was addicted to opioids and in the hospital.”

If West had actually canceled the tour due to drug use, it could have legal ramifications.

The rapper filed a 2017 $10 million lawsuit against insurers Lloyd’s of London, claiming they were refusing to pay for his lost dates and citing his marijuana use as an excuse.

The insurer finally caved in and agreed to pay most of what was due to cover the lost tour dates.

Lawyers for Lloyd’s didn’t return calls for comment Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a source close to West tells Page Six they were “doubtful” he was hospitalized for opioid use and “disappointed” Darden made those claims on-air.

West sources had said at the time of the 2016 breakdown that it was due to the death of his mom, the stress of juggling his fashion line and the tour, and acute sleeplessness and paranoia.

West dramatically just fired Braun and others in his inner circle — despite having just announced five new albums on Twitter — with sources spreading rumors online that those cast out were “very worried for Yeezy’s mental health” and that he could be suffering from “another episode.”

West hired Braun, who also reps Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, a couple of years ago.

He took a larger role in March after West’s longtime manager Izvor “Izzy” Zivkovic stepped down.

While Braun and a rep for West didn’t comment, the first source explained, “Kanye has been saying he wants to bring all representation in-house, and that extends to his managers. His mentality is, ‘I can’t be someone’s client. I have to represent myself.’ He’s clearing house. Scooter remains in an advisory role.”

Since returning to Twitter, West has been raising eyebrows with a series of peculiar tweets.

On Tuesday he wrote, “to be great is to be misunderstood” as well as “dragon 🐉energy/Natural born leaders/Very instinctive/Great foresight.”

He also drew some ire by praising a noted right-wing commentator, saying, “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.”

Actress Allison Mack Is Released To Her Parents On $5 Million Bail In Sex Trafficking Case

Mack is not allowed any contact with members of the alleged Nxivm cult.

Former “Smallville” cast member and accused sex trafficker Allison Mack was released on Tuesday to the custody of her parents in exchange for $5 million bail.

The 35-year-old was charged with sex trafficking on Friday in connection with her alleged involvement with Nxivm (“Nexium”), an alleged cult run by Mack and founder Keith Raniere.

She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Judge Viktor Pohorelsky of U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, New York, said Mack would be allowed to travel only for court appearances, attorney meetings and other approved reasons.

Mack is prohibited from using cellular services or the internet while she is at her parents’ home, and is forbidden from communicating with former or current members of Nxivm, according to NBC News.

Authorities said Mack recruited women to join what she claimed was a female mentorship group called Jness. She and Raniere are accused of exploiting the women who joined, both sexually and for their labor.

Mack was Raniere’s direct “slave” but acted as “master” to other female members, often forcing them to have sex with Raniere and have his initials branded into their pubic region with a cauterizing pen, according to the criminal complaint obtained by the New York Post.

During the branding, Mack told the women to “feel the pain” and to “think of [their] master,” the criminal complaint said.

Mack is accused of cajoling her victims into posing for nude photos for Raniere, which reportedly were also used as blackmail.

If convicted, Mack faces at least 15 years in prison, but People.com says the actress may be working on a plea deal.

Once Mack is released, she is limited to the Central District of California, a jurisdiction that covers parts of Southern California up to the Central Coast, authorities told People.com.

Her next court date is May 3.

Meek Mill released from prison

Meek Mill has been released from prison.

After spending nearly five months incarcerated after a controversial sentence of two to four years in prison for violating probation, the Philadelphia rapper was out and en route to a basketball game on Tuesday evening. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered an immediate release for Mill earlier in the day, directing the judge to release him on “unsecured bail.”

“I’d like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including JAY-Z, Desiree Perez, my good friend Michael Rubin, my fans, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time,” the rapper, whose full name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, said in a statement obtained by CNN. “While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive.”

Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, a vocal supporter of Mill, shared an Instagram photo of Mill on the way to a 76ers game on Tuesday night.

Mill received a two-to-four year prison sentence in November for violating probation on a 2008 gun and drug case. (He was arrested in 2017 after being involved in a fight and arrested again later for popping wheelies on a dirt bike.) Judge Genece Brinkley cited a failed drug test and the rapper’s noncompliance with a court order restricting his travel in her sentencing order.

Earlier this month, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office recommended a new trial for Mill. But after a judge denied Mill bail, his plea was moved to the state’s Supreme Court.

The case has sparked outrage from criminal justice reform activists. Mill received widespread support from notable artists and athletes, including Colin Kapernick, rappers Jay-Z, T.I. and Rick Ross, New England Patirots owner Robert Kraft, comedian Kevin Hart and the 76ers’ Rubin.

“I think what the support did is bring the overall problem of the criminal justice reform that’s needed to light,” Rubin told CNN in an interview Tuesday. “There’s so many other people that have been wrongfully convicted.”

Mill thanked the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office for its support.

“To the Philly District Attorney’s office, I’m grateful for your commitment to justice. I understand that many people of color across the country don’t have that luxury and I plan to use my platform to shine a light on those issues,” he tweeted. “In the meantime, I plan to work closely with my legal team to overturn this unwarranted conviction and look forward to reuniting with my family and resuming my music career.”

To the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, I’m grateful for your commitment to justice — not only for my case, but for others that have been wrongfully jailed due to police misconduct.”

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian Return Home After Visiting Khloé — and Their New Niece! — in Cleveland

Kim Kardashian West and Kourtney Kardashian touched down in Los Angeles on Thursday after a quick trip to Cleveland, where Khloé Kardashian gave birth to her first child — a girl! — earlier in the day.

The Kardashian siblings flew to be by their younger sister’s side for the birth after soaking up the sun on a girls’ trip to Turks and Caicos earlier in the week. Some of the pictures snapped during the trip were deleted from Kim’s Instagram account in the wake of a cheating scandal surrounding Khloé’s boyfriend Tristan Thompson.

Videos and photos of the 27-year-old NBA star kissing multiple other women surfaced in the final days of Khloé’s pregnancy, and Kim and Kourtney were there for Khloé as the news spread.

“They’re trying to keep her emotionally stable. The whole family is beyond pissed at Tristan,” a source told PEOPLE of her siblings’ trip to see Khloé, adding that the plan is to move her back to L.A. as quickly as possible. “The goal is to get Khloé out of there as fast as they can without jeopardizing the safety of the baby after she’s arrived. Khloé just wants to be home.”

Neither Kim or Kourtney have said anything publicly about their new niece yet, but sister Kylie Jenner and momager Kris Jenner have.

Kris, 62, confirmed the birth of Khloé Kardashian‘s baby girl on Instagram. “BLESSED!!” she wrote on Thursday along with a video of daughter Kendall Jenner repeatedly saying “baby” in a throwback clip from W magazine.

Kylie, 20 — a new mom herself to 2-month-old daughter Stormi — used a Snapchat filter to send her congratulations, sharing a photo of a long, winding road with a pink filter and the words, “Kongrats, Khloé! It’s a Girl!” along the border alongside pink balloons.

Tristan Thompson Seen Entering Hotel With Woman From Club As Khloe’s About To Give Birth

Tristan Thompson was seen entering and leaving a hotel with what looks to be the same mystery woman he was spotted getting cozy with at a New York club over the weekend. See the pics and video here.

Tristan Thompson, 26, was spotted at a New York hotel with what appears to be the same woman he made headlines getting close with at PD-D lounge on Apr. 7. In pics and video obtained by The Shade Room and TMZ, Tristan and the mystery woman can be seen entering the Four Seasons hotel he was staying in with his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates and leaving together four hours later. The outlets also report they came back to the hotel around 5 am and the woman didn’t leave until 8 pm the next night with what appeared to be an overnight bag. SEE THE VIDEO OF TRISTAN AND THE MYSTERY WOMAN AT THE HOTEL HERE!

Although we don’t have all the facts right now, it’s shocking to see Tristan hanging out with another woman when his baby mama Khloe Kardashian, 33, is set to give birth any day now. Does Khloe know about this? And who is this mystery woman? We don’t have all the answers but it’s definitely been an interesting series of events and we’ll be on the lookout for more info wherever we can receive it!

Khloe and Tristan have been dating since 2016 and they’ve been gearing up for the birth of their daughter this month. Khloe’s been very open about sharing pics from her pregnancy journey on social media and seems very excited to become a first time mom.  The couple announced Khloe’s pregnancy in Dec. 2017 with a gorgeous black and white pic of Khloe and Tristan holding her baby bump.

Drake’s Ex-Manager Sentenced To Prison For Tax Evasion

Written By | Trent Clark

BROOKLYN, NY – Derrick Lawrence, one of the founders of Aspire Music Group, the label/management team that solely pushes Drake, learned the result of his guilty plea for not filing personal tax returns from 2009 to 2011.

The 48-year-old music mogul will serve eight months in prison for what he calls an oversight.

“It was never a disrespect to the government. It was a lack of knowledge,” the NYDailyNews recorded Lawrence telling Brooklyn Federal Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo on Monday, April 9.

“It’s my fault for not following up with my accountants who I hired,” he continued.

Lawrence will also have to pay upwards of $600,000 to the federal government in back taxes.

His lawyer, Stacey Richman, said there would be no issue of him getting the money considering the reputation he built for himself in the music industry.

This isn’t the Aspire Music Group’s first rodeo in a big money legal snag. Jas Prince, co-crediting for discovering Drake, famously filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit in 2012 for unpaid royalties — a battle that’s still ongoing to this day.

Teyana Taylor Explains Why She No Longer Has Sex Every Day

Written By | Chantilly Post

Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert are officially in parenthood.

Teyana Taylor and her husband Iman Shumpert are just days away from their reality show premiere of Teyana & Iman. Chatting with Page Six before the series airs on March 26th on VH1, the 27-year-old explains why she and her beau no longer have sex every day like they used to.

Speaking of a shower scene that viewers will see in the show, Teyana says it was “the closest” that Iman and she got that night.

“When we got home, Junie was c–k-blocking, she did not let us do anything,” she says of their two-year-old daughter. “Do not let the shower scenes fool you! Don’t get it twisted — when we get it in, we get it in good — but when Junie is around, we can kiss that goodbye.”

She even explains how Junie has to sleep with them. “Junie falls asleep on my head. Even if Iman kisses me, she will move my face and kiss him, then she will bring me and his head together and we will do a three-way kiss — she has to be involved.”

The actress/rapper – who has a Kanye West produced project on the way – says that this is just all a part of being a parent.

“Pre-Junie sex was every day. Post-Junie, Mama is tired. I would be down, Mama and Papa had to go to work. Junie did not want to go to sleep, and one thing I will not do is make love in front of my baby,” she says. “Junie has a room, but she likes to sleep with us. Now we have to plan it out. That is just parenthood. We can’t complain.”

Kevin Hart Reveals His Media Mogul Plan at Variety’s Massive Summit: ‘I Want to Be a Billionaire’

Written By | Joe Otterson

Kevin Hart provided a glimpse into his mogul-in-the-making mindset during his keynote conversation at the Variety Massive Summit in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

“The goal of being a mogul is a real one,” Hart told Variety‘s co-editor in chief Andrew Wallenstein. “I want to be a billionaire…I’m 38. By the time I’m 45, you guys are going to be telling a completely different story.”

Given Hart’s level of hustle, he is well on his way to achieving that goal. The multi-talented stand up comedian, actor, producer, writer, and content creator said he has no plans to slow down any time soon.

“I don’t understand why people work hard to get comfortable,” he said at Variety’s marketing event, which was presented by Deloitte.

Hart claims his work ethic derived from a simple piece of advice he got from his mother. After he failed to win a trophy at a swim meet as a child, Hart’s mother told him, “You can be great or you can not be great.” From there, he has pushed himself to be more than just an actor or comedian, but rather a franchise unto himself who partners with studios rather than being a performer-for-hire.

“I want the f–king trophies, man,” he said. “The trophy in entertainment is success, it’s ownership, it’s a brand.”

A massive part of Hart’s brand comes from his mastery of social media. He currently boasts over 100 million followers across platforms, offering fans daily insight into both his successes and his tribulations.

“The gift is, it’s access,” he said. “Today’s star and celebrity, you’re big and you become bigger when your fans feel like they see behind the closed door. There was a time where it was such an experience and mystique around stars. You only saw them when it was time to see them…Social media has allowed these stars to show that they’re people.”

In addition, Hart talked about his admiration of Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry, who owns a 200,000 sq. foot film and TV studio in Atlanta.

“The fact that they shot ‘Black Panther’ on Tyler Perry’s stage, blows (my mind),” he said. “How do I do that?” Hart asked. “How do I put myself in a position to give this younger generation what I don’t have?”

Hart also discussed plans to grow HartBeat Prods., his production company for TV And film projects. He touted his recent hire of John Cheng, formerly head of development at RatPac Entertainment, to the post of president of film at HartBeat, where he’s working closely alongside Hart.

“I don’t have time to take a s–t,” Hart joked, but said he’d rather prioritize and learn the business than be complacent like a work-for-hire actor.

“I love knowing, I love being informed and being aware,” he said of his brand.

On top of his incredibly packed schedule, Hart also recently launched the Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Network. The video streaming service formed in partnership with Lionsgate showcases original digital content featuring both Hart and up-and-coming comedic voices. After launching in August, the LOL app was downloaded over 500,000 times in its first 30 days, with Hart claiming the service now has 800,000 active users. In addition, LOL launched a 24-hour comedy channel on Sirius XM earlier this year.

All of his projects are leading Hart toward one goal: to take over Hollywood.

“It sounds so crazy, but if you don’t have the mentality of ‘Take over, do everything,’ you’re not doing nothing.”
