Lord Sko Puffs and Passes in New Video for “Lungz”
Calling himself the “youngest OG in his city,” NY’s own Lord Sko has devoted his life to bringing the blog era feeling back. Bringing a song from his debut album and new school stoner classic PIFF to life, the Washington Heights native drops “Lungz,” his new music video. Produced by Sko’s close friend Arlo Walker, “Lungz” is a triumphant stoner’s anthem, layering horn fanfares over a deep bass groove to accentuate Sko’s out-of-pocket pronouncements: “The youngest OG in my city, dawg/No monkey business, you lil homies like Diddy Kong/Steak and lobster, y’all be at Benihanas to get a job/Wonder if y’all even have got the credit to rent a car,” he smirks. In the video, Sko asserts himself as the king of Uptown, mocking those who’d pray on his downfall and rolling his blunts in Inwood Hill Park. “Lungz” follows the recent, Jason Goldwatch-directed video for “Randy Moss,” inspired by the classic stoner film The Big Lebowski.
Inspired by the classics of the blog era, PIFF sparkles with adventurous samples and vibrant, hazy soundscapes, crafted by some of the finest producers in the East Coast, including Harry Fraud, Statik Selektah, Tony Seltzer, A-Lau, FearDorian, and more. Sko’s detail-rich verses, malleable flows, and brash attitude make him a natural collaborator with artists of all styles and generations, including Conway The Machine, Curren$y, MAVI, POLO PERKS <3 <3 <3, Del The Funkee Homosapien, and Grand Puba of Brand Nubian. With additional production from Mike Shabb, Wino Willy, and Arlo Walker, the 20-year-old prodigy who has been working with Lord Sko since 2022’s MUSEUM, PIFF is available everywhere via UPTOWN SH!T/STIMULATED.
Earlier this month, Sko launched the “PIFF Tour,” his first-ever nationwide headlining tour. Featuring support from LifeOfThom, the tour kicked off in Boston on April 16, and makes its way through major markets before concluding in Los Angeles on May 1. Last night, Sko performed a very special hometown show in Brooklyn, selling out Baby’s All Right and keeping the energy high until close.
With so much accomplished before his recently-celebrated 21st birthday, Lord Sko is ready to put the city on his back. This is just the beginning.
