Moses Sumney releases ‘Sophcore EP’ via Tuntum Records

Moses Sumney releases Sophcore, his first body of original music since his critically acclaimed double album græ in 2020. The EP features the previously released singles “Vintage” and “Gold Coast” (both of which have been spotlighted by The New York Times as notable releases in their Playlist) and showcases Sumney’s continued musical evolution, highlighting more overt R&B influences than his past releases without compromising the forward-thinking songwriting and singular voice on which he’s built his career. Alongside Sophcore’s release, he announces a string of upcoming live dates that will see him take his catalog to Atlanta, Raleigh, Los Angeles, New York and London.
Offering insight into the body of work, Sumney shares, “Sophcore explores the meeting points between sensuality and intuition … esotericism and populism … deep feeling and fun. It’s diving into subterranean rhythm, bass and drums, and making music for the hips as well as the heart.”
The EP arrives on the heels of Sumney being announced just yesterday as the face of Rabanne’s Million Gold fragrance and rounds out a Summer in which he starred in MaXXXine, A24’s Ti West-directed horror film, alongside Mia Goth, Kevin Bacon, Halsey and more.
