FOSTER RELEASES DEBUT EP less than three; OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “digital gf” OUT NOW
Today, Nashville’s up-and-coming hip-hop artist Foster, who is known for his exceptional blend of genres, has released his debut EP less than 3 via Relentless Records / Columbia Records. Listen HERE. The 6-track project includes new single “digital gf,” previously released tune “wish you were here,” and four additional new songs. See full tracklisting below.
Alongside less than 3 comes the official video for “digital gf”. Speaking about the song, Foster explains: “‘digital gf’ can generally be perceived in two ways: the main would be the addiction to being on your phone, and the other would be a guy in a relationship with a girl via the internet (long distance or haven’t met them yet etc.)”
A tale of relationship collapse and self-destructive tendencies, Foster’s debut EP explores love, responsibility, and the harsh lessons that come with growing up. Take the plaintive “when i needed you most” and its enthralling narrative drive that Foster labels “a back-and-forth inner thought process around friendship, respect, and success.” Unafraid to expose his feelings, the stark, wholly brave “here we go again” closes the EP, and it deals directly with mental health – something he terms “a never-ending cycle for me”.
As the EP aims to tackle important topics, it is backed by some incredible musicality. “I’m a perfectionist,” Foster states. “So, a big thing for me is, how close to perfect can I make this? I’m always interested in the next song, and the next project. It’s evolving, and the sense of being on a journey – that’s what fires me.”
