DAVE KOZ & ADAM HAWLEY SINGLE “AUTOMATIC” GOES TO #1 ON BILLBOARD SMOOTH JAZZ AIRPLAY CHART

Dave Koz and Adam Hawley’s new single, “Automatic”, has claimed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Airplay chart after a quick 10-week climb to the top. The track is Koz’s 11th No. 1 on the tally. Hawley has also scored numerous chart-toppers.
The Dave Koz & Friends Christmas Tour 2024 – which reunites Koz with long-time musical partner, guitarist/singer Jonathan Butler, and includes saxophonist Vincent Ingala, guitarist Adam Hawley and vocalist Rebecca Jade as special guests – will wrap up with a series of five California shows, including a two-night stand at Cerritos Center For The Performing Arts on December 20 and 21. Tickets are on sale now at https://www.davekoz.com/tour.
The 27th anniversary edition of the longest-running jazz-based Christmas tour features the artists performing timeless Christmas classics, a Chanukah medley and hits from each artist’s respective catalogue – including Koz and Hawley’s “Automatic.”
Awarding their show at Ruth Eckerd Hall a 10 out of 10 rating, Tampa Bay Music News said, “On the surface this might seem like a ‘holiday themed concert’ but looking a bit deeper it is so much more. It is the beautiful proof of an elder statesman of music that has found success, fearlessly showcasing the talents of not only his friends, but some of a younger generations’ finest musicians with no ego or competition hindering the presentation. Everyone was featured, even the backup band and it was well deserved. A top notch group overflowing with groove, dynamics and power. That takes balls, a sense of selflessness, and a genuine spirit of goodwill. Hallelujah.”
The reviewer went on to note, “From the first note of music, we are captivated and taken on a musical journey that is inspiring, joyous, and touching…The night was so musically satisfying, there were four standing ovations…”
Prior to the tour’s launch, Dave, joined by pianist Todd Schroeder and saxophonist Austin Gatus, performed a mini-concert for patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) with the nonprofit Starlight Children’s Foundation. They also paid bedside visits and distributed a Starlight Toy Delivery to patients. Koz has served as global ambassador for the Foundation for over 30 years and was recipient of the 2023 Starlight Children’s Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. He has raised over two million dollars to date for the foundation through the Dave Koz & Friends At Sea silent auctions and his network of fans.
Koz performed as a special guest in Great Performances: Henry Mancini 100 at the Hollywood Bowl, which premiered on PBS on Black Friday. Billboard hailed his renditions of tracks by the renowned composer as among the highlights of the concert, which took place in June 2024 and also featured Cynthia Erivo and Michael Bublé.
