Jet Life’s Fendi P Goes Back to the Basics With “Cassette Deck 2”, Produced by Monsta Beatz

New Orleans rapper Fendi P is an expert in the kind of effortless flexin’ that his mentor and label boss Curren$y perfected, and continued to cultivate when he founded Jet Life Records. Today, the longtime Jet Life signee Fendi P connects with MonstaBeatz, the producer behind iconic hits by Curren$y, Lil Wayne, Takeoff, and more, to release “Cassette Deck 2,” a new single and music video.

The song is a sequel to 2013’s “Cassette Deck,” the first collaboration between Fendi P and MonstaBeatz, who chops and screws the original’s hazy atmosphere and seasick organ riff into a whole new feeling. Fendi attacks the beat with renewed verve and the perspective of a veteran. Though Fendi has lived many lives since he released the original, back when he still performed under the name Cornerboy P, he conveys the same hunger with his sharp delivery: “And I’m rated R, you just PG/This a horror film, you n****s Disney,” he spits. Featuring a video directed by FORTYFPS, “Cassette Deck 2” is the first glimpse of Monsta P, the upcoming collaborative mixtape by Fendi P and MonstaBeatz.

Respected in his hometown and beyond for his fresh stylings and easygoing confidence, Fendi P first signed to Jet Life nearly more than 10 years ago. He drew attention with his album Late Nights, Early Mornings, which featured guest spots from Curren$y, Lil Wayne, Project Pat, and more. In 2020, Fendi connected with Curren$y for Smokin’ Patnas, a collaborative full-length, and in 2022, he interrogated both sides of his personality with Corner Boy vs. Fendi. Fendi has kept busy over the past year, connecting with DJ.fresh for World’s Freshest P, an installment in Dj.fresh’s legendary The Tonite Show series, and teamed with fellow Jet Lifer Marco Denelle for the Duvaleans tape, released earlier in 2026.
