Wyatt Lowe’s “Deserts” Arrives Tomorrow

Wyatt Lowe brings together Americana, rock, country and blues on Deserts, his new full-length album arriving tomorrow, October 9. The 10-track collection introduces a guitar-driven songwriter with a deep connection to the road, classic American music and the instrument that has shaped his life.
Ahead of the release, Americana UK is giving fans a first look at the album with the premiere of its title track, “Deserts.” A fitting introduction to Lowe’s expansive sound, the song pairs roots-driven songwriting with the grit and energy of classic rock. Watch HERE.
“‘Deserts’ was the first song I wrote for this record, and it became the foundation for everything that followed,” said Lowe. “I started writing the melody during the pandemic, inspired by an image I couldn’t shake: a desert in the middle of a torrential rainstorm. There was something about that contrast, the barrenness and endlessness of the desert against the force of a storm, that stayed with me. That visual thread runs through the whole album, from the desert itself to that fleeting light at twilight just before nightfall. I wanted these songs to hit you musically, but I also wanted to give you something to see while you listened.”
Lowe wrote nine of the album’s 10 tracks, with the sole exception of his take on Gordon Lightfoot’s iconic “Sundown.” Produced by Ted Hutt (Dropkick Murphys, Old Crow Medicine Show) and recorded at June Audio Recording Studio in Provo, Utah, Deserts showcases Lowe as both a songwriter and guitarist, weaving country-rock, blues and Americana into a sound that feels equally at home in an intimate listening room or on a larger rock stage.
A lifelong guitarist and touring musician, Lowe began performing in his early teens, cutting his first record at 13 and touring the country by 15. Over the years, he has shared stages with artists including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Derek Trucks, B.B. King, Chris Isaak and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, while studying under blues greats including Anson Funderburgh and Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Raised in Southern California and seasoned in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Lowe’s musical lineage runs deep. His great uncle, Howard “Jerry Ward” Lowe, was the original bass player for Merle Haggard and the Strangers. Lowe has since developed his own reputation as a meticulous guitarist and vintage-instrument collector, with the guitar serving as both a musical foundation and an extension of his storytelling.
Now based in Utah while remaining deeply connected to his California roots, Lowe makes music built for the places where Americana and rock intersect: desert bars, roadside jukeboxes, listening rooms and packed concert halls. Deserts captures the road miles, musical influences and hard-earned musicianship behind his sound while marking the beginning of a new chapter for an artist carving out his own space within the Americana and rock landscape.
With Deserts arriving October 9, Lowe will bring the album to audiences throughout the fall, including a November 5 headline performance at Gold-Diggers in Los Angeles. Get tickets HERE.
